The Authorities in Indonesia have today once again closed down operations at Denspar Bali Airport due to volcano ash drifting from Mount Raung. Most of the airlines including Australian carriers Jetstar and Virgin Australia had cancelled flights in and out of Bali adding to the misery of tourists during peak holiday season. The volcano which has been active since late June this year has resulted in closure of Denpasar Bali airport for the forth time since then.
Gede Suantika, the Indonesian government vulcanologist said that the volcano normally shoots out ash 700 to 800 metres high, but this time it’s around 1,000 metres and the impact will be higher as compared to previous eruptions.
