Dr. Mohd Isham Bin Jaafar, the Health Minister of Brunei, has explained that there is no restriction for the public to visit recreational sites within the country. However, the public must follow all the directives, advisories and guidelines which are issued by the government to control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, he said in his daily press conference on Monday (April 20).
The minister said, “Following yesterday’s statement on the prohibition of performing activities that involve mass gathering in public places, especially in parks and recreational forests sites, beaches and lakes, the Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to clarify that the ministry has not restricted the public from visiting these recreational sites. However, everyone must comply with all the directives and advices issued by the government.”
He also mentioned that people should maintain physical distance of at least one meter from each other and not to involve in the group activities.
Everyone should adhere their cultivate preventive measures and social responsibilities likewise not to visit recreational sites if not feeling well, avoid from gathering or hanging out, maintain personal and environmental hygiene, keep proper coughing and sneezing etiquette in public.
In Brunei, there are many interesting recreational sites to visit such as Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Belait Jerudong Park, Waterfalls, Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, ATV Adventure at Katimahar Agripark etc. and activities to do such as Hiking, Archery, Fishing in Tutong, Football etc. People can stay safe from COVID-19 pandemic during visiting at these recreational sites by following some major directives and advices issued by the government.
