The Garden City Water Park in Phnom Penh opened to the Public

According to the statement of President of LYP Group Ly Yong Phat, the Garden City Water Park is now open to the public amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Garden City Water Park is located at Prek Tasek commune in Chroy Changvar, a district approx 16 km north of Phnom Penh. The park is built on 8.6 hectares of land with 2.4 hectares of parking spaces and the rest is used by the park itself.

With a total investment of $44 million from LYP Group, a conglomerate managing many businesses in Cambodia, the water park is situated inside the Garden City satellite city where the LYP Group operates the $10 million Phnom Penh Safari since 2018.

The president of LYP Group has informed that the water park has multiple parts including a 3 meter high man-made lagoon, waterslides, a beautiful man-made waterfall, a children’s playground, steam and sauna facilities with various attractions and many other activities.

He stated, “The water park can accommodate up to 7,000 customers per day, but now we are allowing only 3,500 customers per day to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be 280 jobs. However, we are now employing 185 staff during COVID-19.”

The Garden City Water Park has 38 types of water equipment with modern high technology. These equipments are imported from the United States and the European Union. They are suitable to use by people of all ages including children, teenagers and adults.

Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen has appreciated the investment because the area now has Morodok Techo National Stadium, 5 star hotels, golf courses and now a water park. He said that this is part of the long-term development vision.
