Huaphan Province in northeastern Laos has disclose its plans to officially open a new Hmong Culture Park at the end of November this year as the construction of the park has been 80 per cent completed. The Hmong culture park is approx 35 km from Sobbao district and 6 km off the main asphalt road.
The project of constructing the park worth over 500 million kip is located on the top of a 1 hectare hill between Nong Tong and Namterp villages in Sobbao district. The local businessman and Namterp resident Yia Limua have made the investment.
He informed that the construction of the park began in the month of June this year and is likely scheduled to open in late November this year. “Construction of the culture park will complement Daen Phou Soung Waterfall and aims to promote the Hmong culture and lifestyle to domestic and foreign tourists, and also boost poverty reduction among local residents,” he further added.
The park will highlight Hmong statues dressed in traditional clothing, a camping ground, a restaurant serving ethnic style food and sweet corn and pumpkin sculptures depicting local farming production.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the magnificent views from the mountain, watch the sunrise and sunset, camp under the stars and experience the Hmong culture and lifestyle. The Daen Phou Soung Waterfall offers a variety of adventure activities including a suspension bridge with waterfall views.
