Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has confirmed that 27 tourist attractions in the capital will be closed to visitors once again starting from September 14 to 28, to follow the re-implementation of the large-scale social restrictions (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar or PSBB).
He made the announcement during an online press conference on Friday. He said that activities at 27 tourist sites which are managed by the administration of Jakarta will be halted from September 14. The restrictions will remain in force by next two weeks till September 28, 2020.
The 27 tourist attractions on the list include:
- Ancol
- Kawasan Monas
- Pulau Cipir Island
- Pulau Kelor Island
- Pulau Onrust Island
- Gedung Latihan Kesenian (5 Wilayah Kota)
- Rumah Si Pitung in North Jakarta
- Jakarta Bahari Museum in North Jakarta
- Anjungan DKI di TMII in East Jakarta
- Taman Benyamin Suaeb in East Jakarta
- Lab Tari dan Karawitan Condet in East Jakarta
- Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta
- Kantor Upk Pbb Setu Babakan in South Jakarta
- Wisata Kota Tua Jakarta in West Jakarta
- Jakarta History Museum in West Jakarta
- Museum of Textile in West Jakarta
- Wayang Museum in West Jakarta
- Miss Tjitjih in Central Jakarta
- Jakarta Planetarium in Central Jakarta
- Taman Ismail Marzuki in Central Jakarta
- Wayang Orang Bharata in Central Jakarta

Certain attractions such as Ancol, TMII and Ruganan Zoo were reopened to tourists at the end of June under health and safety protocols and attracted thousands of people wishing to relax on the weekend.
Mr. Anies Baswedan warned people not to expect the pandemic to end in just 2 weeks. If the higher rate of COVID-19 transmission in the community does not slow down, the PSBB will remain in place until the situation becomes under control.
In regards to COVID-19 transmission in Indonesia, the country has seen a spike in infection last week and has reported a total number of 2,21,523 confirmed cases which are under treatment and 8,841 patients have lost their lives due to the virus. However, 1,58,405 patients who tested positive to COVID-19 have completely recovered from the virus, as of Monday (Sept 14).
