The Ho Chi Minh City is conducting the Top Thai Brands 2020 expo from Thursday (Sept 17) at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre. A variety of high-quality Thai products and services from around 150 leading Thai companies are being exhibited at the biggest Thai trade fair in Vietnam.
The four-day expo is expected to enhance promote trade and bilateral relations between the two countries. It has a goal to achieve a two-way trade turnover of US $20 billion by this year.
Ms Suparporn Sookmark, Director of the Thai Department of International Trade Promotion in Ho Chi Minh City, has said that the annual trade fair provides a platform for Thai and Vietnamese companies to expand their networks and further develop strategic partnerships.
Distributors and consumers will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of Thai products and services with internationally renowned brands.
At least 200 booths in the trade fair are presenting and selling a series of high-quality products from Thailand, including food and beverages, automobile and motorcycle parts and accessories, apparel and fashion accessories, beauty and health care products, home appliances and household products, baby products, education, airlines and tourism.
The fair is organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand in co-operation with the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad) at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Taking into account the safety of tourists during the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers are providing COVID-19 preventive measures such as body temperature checks, hand sanitizer in public areas and reminders to wear face masks and frequent wash hands.
In regards to COVID-19 transmission in Vietnam, the country has reported a total number of 1,066 confirmed cases which are under treatment and 35 patients have died due to the virus. However, 940 patients who tested positive to COVID-19 have completely recovered from the virus, as of Friday (Sept 18).
